You must warn each other every day, as long as it is called ‘Today’, so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God. Hebrews 3 v 13
Christians who want to live right and obey God seem to have their work cut out. We are expected to live a holy life and to flee from everything that is brought upon us by the evil one. We also have to tell people the Gospel, people who will probably make our lives difficult for even mentioning it! If all that wasn’t enough, according to this verse we also have to look out for our Christian friends too!
We have a responsibility to help keep them on the right path, and not let them get dragged into anything that might draw them away from God. It seems so unfair! Reverse the roles though, and think about it the other way around, if you are watching out for your Christian friends then it is likely that they are watching out for you too!
When watching out for them you try to help them avoid pitfalls, possibly ones you have stumbled into in the past. This means being honest with them about your Christian life and them being honest with you. If you see a danger then you should alert them to it. They may not want to listen and they may have to learn in their own way, but you have to warn them just the same. You also need to make sure that you don’t provide the pitfalls yourself!
